For Managers

Stop losing your top talent

You pride yourself on your team’s performance and their capacity for success. That’s why you hire only the best.

But retaining top talent can be a challenge. Rates of burnout are at a record high, and with the near-universal implementation of remote working, the best performers have more temptation than ever to seek greener pastures elsewhere. Both are more likely when:

  • Their day-to-day work is focussed on putting out fires, leaving them with little time for long-term strategic thinking

  • Management is stretched thin, creating a lack of clarity around expectations and development goals

  • They do not feel that management is invested in their long-term growth and success

The resulting high turnover increases stress for others on the team who are left scrambling to take on extra work.

Help your key talent help you

I partner with you and your top talent to identify what gives them meaning in work and to align that with your organisation’s objectives. Together, we take a tailored approach that addresses any potential skills gaps, ensuring that their capacities match your needs and that they continue to grow as their careers progress. As a result, they:

  • Develop a clear understanding of what you as their manager expect of them and how that aligns with their career objectives

  • Renew their enjoyment in their current role, along with their motivation to continue in it, increasing the odds they will remain a key player on your team over the long term

  • Ensure that they are constantly growing, changing and learning in line with your needs

  • Learn how to understand issues from their colleagues’ perspectives, allowing everyone on your team to collaborate more effectively

Research demonstrates that when workers see their own values reflected in their work, they take fewer sick days, are more productive, and remain in their position for longer.

My approach is informed by the ten years I spent as a lawyer, first in top-ranked global law firms and then on the in-house legal team at the OECD. I leveraged those experiences to develop a no-nonsense approach to coaching that helps busy professionals thrive by bringing their career goals into alignment with their employer’s needs.

All it takes is one hour every fortnight

I take a tailored approach, collaborating with you, their manager, to define your goals for the coachee. Then, I work one-on-one with the coachee in targeted one-hour sessions to align his or her own goals with those of management. As a result, your team member will:

  • Become more independent and less in need of micro-managing

  • Be more prepared to take on greater responsibility, particularly in periods of high stress and high demand, when you need it most

  • Gain a renewed sense of purpose and increased motivation, becoming a more productive member of your team

My clients experience less stress, increased productivity and enjoy more fruitful interactions with their colleagues. They feel supported by their managers and reassured by having a better understanding of what is expected of them.

I’m more fulfilled, satisfied and motivated—not just day-to-day, but also in terms of how I see the next six months, or how I might spend the next year or even the rest of my career… I'm growing and learning in ways that are really important to me and useful to the team that I'm working with. It has been a really enriching, satisfying shift for me.
