Partner, Major International Law Firm

The Issue

A longstanding partner at a large law firm sought ways to take on a bigger role within the firm’s leadership structure.

The Process

I helped the client to analyse the situation and identify a few sources of leverage to achieve this goal.

1. Increase self-confidence by identifying strengths and playing to these;

2. Overcome a strong aversion to networking by identifying networking strategies that felt natural and authentic;

3. Improve organisational strategies in order to create extra time for additional leadership work.

The Outcome

The client emerged from our work with greatly improved self-confidence, which led to stronger ties with colleagues and more productive working relationships.

The client engaged in more frequent, informal networking, which translated into greater visibility among the partnership. The client’s increased influence in the firm meant more rewarding work days and a more fulfilling career.
