The Issue

A client took on an ambitious new role in which a recently-developed skill set would be put to the test for the first time.


The Process

First, we identified milestones that the client needed to achieve, as well as objective indicators to assess whether things were moving in the right direction.

I helped the client develop the tools to periodically take a step back from the endless flow of emergencies to assess progress against identified milestones and to pinpoint long-term strategies for ensuring continued progress.

I also helped the client to develop targeted strategies for specific issues: relationships with difficult colleagues; managing complex projects on tight deadlines; reducing workflow inefficiencies.


The Outcome

Through this combination of strategies for short-term success and achievement of long-term goals, the client secured a resoundingly positive review after one year in the role and secured a reputation as a key player on their team.
